Maldon is a thriving market town, dating back before 913AD. It was the location of a Royal Mint, producing coins until Saxon times. It is well known for its moorings for Thames Sailing barges, that can be found down at Hythe Quay. One of our most famous products which can be found worldwide is Maldon Salt.
The High street is lined with beautiful listed buildings which is home to numerous independent retailers alongside the major UK chains, such as Marks and Spencer, Prezzo, Costa Coffee, M & Co. There are 3 notable arcades all linking to the high street. The arcades: Edward’s Walk, Kings Head Centre and Bright’s Path all are homes to interesting boutique retail shops and wellbeing businesses – each one worth a visit.
